Rick Sammon, one of the worlds greatest travel photographers, has many "Sammonisms". One of them is that "When you take the color out of a photograph you remove some of the reality and when doing so your images can look more artistic."
When I captured these two images I was thinking black and white at that time. Some may like the color versions but this is what I envisioned as being the final images. Lightroom 5 and Nik Silver eFex Pro II were used to create these images.
I think by combining the fact that these were both long exposures and removing the color that they do feel more artistic. What do you think? Please feel free to leave a comment, shoot me an e-mail, or even give me a call.
