Part of last year and all of this year I have had the pleasure of being the President for the South Florida National Parks Camera Club (SFNPCC) located here in Homestead, Florida. I have been asked to continue on for one more year as their president so I will continue in my role for 2016 and I am excited to see what this new year brings us.
The SFNPCC currently has over 60 members and has meetings every month along with monthly field trips. The meetings cover a wide variety of topics usually centered on outdoor and nature photography subjects. We have had several guest speakers who are masters of their craft as well. The field trips range from the Everglades National Park to the Big Cypress preserve with just about anything in between. We have had gallery showings at Homestead City Hall as well as featured articles in the South Dade News Leader.
Recently the club has helped the Everglades National Park restore one of the boardwalks within the park. Our members supplied the much needed labor and expertise and we are nearly done with the project.
So here is the bottom line: If you are interested in photography and the outdoors this is the club for you. You need not worry about your skill level as we have photographers who are just now getting into the art, professional photographers, and everything in between.
Please, take a moment and check out the award winning website at www.sfnpcc.org and consider coming to the next meeting on December 3rd at 7pm.
